New vegan, plant-based mayo

If you're looking for a new plant-based mayo or sauce, a new brand has hit metro Detroit store shelves. The Only Plant Based! brand was brought to area stores

through Birmingham-based Vegano Foods, here George Vutetakis is a consulting chef. Vutetakis is well-known as the founding chef of Inn Season Cafe, the vegan/vegetarian eatery in Royal Oak. The plant-based mayos and sauces are shelf-stable, requiring no refrigeration and are heatable so they won't break down in a sauce. Varieties include the original mayo, a spicy Chipotle mayo and garlic mayo. There's are also a plant-

based Zesty All-American Ranch dressing and a sour cream. All Only Plant Based! products are sold in 11-ounce jars. Prices vary by retailer. Made primarily from culinary rapeseed oil, spirit vinegar, vegetables and spices, Only Plant Based! mayos, dressings and sour cream are available locally at Busch's Fresh food Market, Holiday Market and Meijer Woodward Corners.
